At Uniquely You Orthodontics, we utilize modern technology to provide our patients with a more efficient and comfortable orthodontic experience. We use the Damon Bracket System, which doesn’t use colored elastic ties to keep the wire in place. The Damon brackets are smaller and low profile, forgiving to surrounding tissues. With its sliding door mechanism, it keeps the wire in place while reducing friction and making treatment faster, more efficient, and more comfortable.
To shorten your braces bonding appointment, we use digital AI software to create 3D-printed trays, guiding us on where to bond each bracket accurately. We can also show a simulation of your teeth’ final positions before bonding your braces, improving communication and patient expectations.
Clear aligners are the most discreet option for correcting teeth alignment and avoiding the appearance of traditional metal braces when you speak or smile. It works by wearing a series of removable, clear aligners to move your teeth gradually to their ideal positions without disrupting your lifestyle or school activities. And since they are removable, you can eat anything you want and brush and floss your teeth as you would normally.
At UYOrtho, we provide various options to fit your specific needs, case, and budget. Dr. Jim will be happy to discuss whether you are a good candidate for Invisalign or Spark Aligners. We also offer in-house clear aligners, 3D printed right at our office, for those who want to straighten their teeth without breaking the bank.
The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children age 7 should have their first orthodontic evaluation to detect any early signs of bite problems or development deficiencies. The goal of Phase 1 Orthodontics is to ensure that the teeth are at their proper places, the jaws are developing properly, and that there is enough space for the development of permanent teeth. Treatment usually includes correcting parafunctional habits, wearing palatal expanders to have enough space for permanent teeth, or just monitoring the development of jaws and teeth – as not all children require wearing braces at this age.
If early detection of problems and early treatment were provided, Phase 1 Orthodontics would prevent the need for tooth extractions, jaw surgery, and more complex treatments in the future.
iTero
Say goodbye to the goop, gagging, and extreme discomfort you experienced with dental rubber impressions. At Uniquely You Orthodontics, we use iTero Digital Scanners to accurately take a picture of your teeth and create a 3D digital image comfortably with our “digital wands.” It can capture the nooks and crannies of your teeth to make a highly accurate 3D digital model, allowing us to create a more fitting and precise orthodontic appliance.
CBCT
You don’t have to leave our office to get a CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography Scanner)! You can have your 3D CBCT taken in our office to help us better understand your teeth, jaw bones, and other surrounding structures that may affect your treatment. The radiation dose may be up to 100 times lower than that of a typical computed tomography scanner and aids in providing you with a more comprehensive and personalized treatment.
